This week, TripCase began delivering to users our newest release: TripCase 2.5. The new functions in this version include current drive times, proactive traffic alerts, expense tracking and improved mobile flight editing capabilities. The new features are now available on the iPhone and Blackberry applications. These features will be available for the Android application with the next release for Android, scheduled before the end of the year.
For inquiring minds, here’s a little more detail on each of these new features:
Drive Times and Traffic Alerts – Provides drivers access to drive times between itinerary destinations and the ability to set the app to monitor traffic. TripCase will automatically send an alert if there is a traffic incident that could increase drive time, giving the traveler the information to decide to leave earlier than planned. This feature is perfect to help guard against missing a flight or meeting due to unfamiliarity about distance between locations or unforeseen traffic delays.
Expense Tracking – Whether travelers are looking to make it easier to submit expense report or just keep better track of your spending while they are on the road, this feature allows travelers to track expenses while in transit and get a recap of spending after the trip.
Edit Flights and Combine Trips – Travelers can now combine different trip segments into one trip on their mobile apps as well as edit flights directly from their mobile devices.
Best of all, TripCase, including the critical flight alerts, remains free to users.
If you already have the iPhone or Blackberry apps, you should have already received the notification to upgrade to the new version (if not, check with the App Store or Marketplace for the update). If you don’t yet use TripCase, this is the perfect time to give it a try. You can register for TripCase for free here: http://www.tripcase.com/users/new
