Whether you’re working all day and tired or you’ve been eating out for every meal, staying fit while traveling is tough work. You may not always have access to a gym or fitness center, and all those fancy meals can sure do a number on your diet. Traveling should be fun, though, and even when you’re away from home you can still get a great workout.
Most hotels have your back when it comes to trying to stay in shape. From offers such as Hilton’s “Stay Fit Kit” that provides a Pilates band; yoga mat, strap and blocks; 8 lb abs ball; 3 lb hand weights; resistance rope; and instruction cards, to fitness centers equipped with extensive strength building and cardio equipment, you have plenty of options. If you happen to stay at a hotel that doesn’t have a fitness center, ask the front desk about any arrangements they may have with gyms or fitness centers nearby.
If working out in a gym or fitness center is not for you, you still have plenty of options.
Take advantage of the outdoors while your traveling. Whether it’s walking the streets of a city or searching for running paths, a little fresh air is always good. There are apps out there like Map My Run that will provide you with various trails and paths to take, or just ask your hotel concierge for recommendations.
Stick to Your Room
If you’d rather stay inside, you can get a great workout by never leaving your room. Whether you have a circuit that you follow or you fire up a video series, you can get a workout in without leaving your room. Try this circuit next time your traveling:
Complete each workout for 1 minute, repeat circuit twice.
